At Balfour Beatty Living Places, we work in Long Term Partnerships with local authorities and this role will be a key part of the Key Account Management teams with the objective of identifying extra opportunities.

What you'll be doing

As a Business Development Manager , you will have the following accountabilities:

Develop a Growth Strategy: Create a business development strategy focused on business growth. Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Highways Maintenance Market and SCAPE opportunities Collaborate with Senior Leadership Teams: Work closely with Senior Leadership Teams, Bid, and Contract Directors to develop the BBLP Market Strategy Strengthen Client Relationships: Collaborate with Area Directors, Account Directors, and Work Winning teams to review existing accounts. Find ways to strengthen relationships and identify cross-selling opportunities with other BB business units, including those through the SCAPE Framework Engage with Stakeholders: Attend customer meetings, industry events, site visits, and Work Winning Team meetings. Gather information on key requirements and create stakeholder intelligence for key account management. Competitor Analysis: Understand and analyse competitor information to inform strategic decisions Support Corporate Group SER (ISO44001): Provide support related to Corporate Group Supplier Engagement and Relationship Management (ISO44001).

Who we're looking for

You will have the following:

Strong Leadership capabilities with experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams to achieve business objectives. Excellent communication skills to enable development of strong internal and client networks. Ability to think strategically to identify long terms goals. Strong business acumen to provide insights from market trends and to identify growth opportunities. Knowledge of the Highway Maintenance market or similar market sector.

Desired qualities:

Degree in engineering or relevant subject
