Job summary

Reporting to the Head of Capital Planning, the post holder will support the development, implementation and governance for the capital portfolio which actively promotes a culture of excellence. This includes facilitating a wide range of capital planning activities to deliver capital schemes across the University Health Board with a focus on project governance and assurance mechanisms which take into account organisational objectives, key risks, external scrutiny and regulatory requirements etc.

The post holder will play a key role in providing support and expertise around assurance on behalf of the Capital Planning team.

The role requires knowledge of assurance processes which are underpinned by theory and experience as the post holder will be expected to contribute to the development and implementation of robust assurance systems on behalf of the Board.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will also provide business support within the Capital Planning Team by:

Acting as a key channel of communication for senior colleagues within the Health Board, Welsh Government and other external partners such as Public Health Wales. Developing a robust capital management framework along with associated governance policies and protocols. Providing excellent project administrative, analytical and business support to the Head of Capital Planning and the wider Capital Planning team. The post holder will act as the first line contact for external and internal queries, providing administration support and will also be asked to proactively contribute to project planning and delivery. Supporting the management, running and implementation of outputs from the Capital Sub Committee.

Job responsibilities

Hywel Dda University Health Board is seeking to appoint a Capital Programme Support Officer to join its Planning Team. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a team to support the delivery of an ambitious programme of capital projects over the coming years.

The post holder will support the Capital Planning Team in the implementation of a large portfolio of capital projects to meet the aims and objectives of the Health Boards Strategy A Healthier Mid and West Wales and in particular, building upon positive developments to deliver capital projects within a robust management and governance structure

Excellent organisational skills; verbal and written skills; and knowledge of computer applications are essential.

Through this post there will be opportunities to gain experience in a number of different areas of work within the remit of the Planning Team.
