Job summary

NHS England has established 17 Maternal Medicine Networks (MMN) around England. These networks are relatively new so this is an exciting post as the networks are evolving to meet the needs of the population in the East Midlands. The East Midlands is a regional network and works with Maternity Units in Leicestershire, Nottingham, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire. UHL is the lead center working closely with our co-leads Nottingham and Derby hospitals to optimize the care of women with pregnancy complicated by maternal conditions. Each hospital within the MMN network is required to monitor and submit their activity numbers

The key responsibility of this role is to provide administrative facilitation of team meetings for the regional MDT meetings as part of the network arrangement, ensuring external colleagues are able to join the meetings via electronic conferencing. This will include preparing, organising and circulating agendas, minutes, results and sending out minutes of the meeting to relevant clinicians.

The role will also be responsible for collecting, maintaining and submitting the data required for the network MDT and national submission and monitoring the dataset.

It is required that the post holder will provide administration support to the Network core team and will be a pivotal point of contact and support to the clinical leads across all network Trusts.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to be the network MDT coordinator and data Navigator for the East Midlands Maternal medicine Network . As a member of the team you will be responsible for facilitation and coordination of the MDTs primarily providing support to the network core team members .

The role is varied and will develop to meet the needs of the service. The successful candidate will be required to possess excellent communication, relationship and administration skills. It will involve preparing the MDT, collecting, maintaining and the national submission and monitoring of the dataset.

The post holder must engage effectively with network hospitals and Trusts to ensure the data collection process is efficient, smooth and well-supported. This role also requires data collection, compilation of relevant reports and audits and the post holder must be able to work to tight deadlines and at times under pressure.

You will become a vital part of a talented team of people, committed to providing the best care and treatment to pregnant people in the East Midlands.

The role requires occasional travel between the hospitals in the East Midlands.

Job responsibilities

To work closely with the Lead Midwife for the EMMMN and other members of the core team

To co-ordinate, supervise and maintain robust data collection and validation mechanisms across all network Trusts.

To be responsible for the efficient collection and data entry onto the database for the EMMMN MDT.

To work with other trusts in the network to locate missing data and ensure accuracy when inputting to the database.

To support the analysis and report data as required, obtaining data from a variety of sources.

To be responsible for the provision of timely and accurate information to other staff to ensure the production of reports and analysis when required.

Where appropriate, to liaise with other departments and hospitals within the network.

To provide administrative facilitation of team meetings including preparing, organising and circulating agendas, minutes of the previous meetings and recording the outcome of MDT meetings.

To ensure as far as possible that colleagues are able to join the meetings via electronic conferencing as required.

To collate all relevant documentation for team meetings, to include where appropriate patient notes, investigation results and clinic letters.

To take minutes and record attendance at MDT meetings accurately and to circulate appropriately.

To provide general administrative duties to the multidisciplinary team to include typing letters, photocopying, filing, basic clerical duties and distributing documents quickly and efficiently.

To be the point of contact and support for members of the MDT
