This role is a new and exciting role as HPFT lead the way in driving parity between mental health and physical health for young people within inpatient CAMHS. Main duties of the job

This is an opportunity to advocate and promote what great physical health care looks like, sharing their expertise to coach, teach and empower staff to develop their knowledge and skills in relation to physical health.

This is an opportunity to work with internal and external stake holders, collaborate with their existing community services to provide seamless transition between admission and discharge. The role will be working in collaboration with HPFT physical health team to be a proud loud voice for children and young people.

This role can explore health inequalities amongst young people and their families, driving health promotion and prevention as part of their health journey through Forest House.

The role will require the post holder to be able to make reasonable adjustments and adapt their approach and communication style to ensure all young people are supported. The role will ensure they have the knowledge and understanding in meeting the needs of our neurodiverse young people, utilisng evidence-based care and working in collaboration with families/carers

Job description

Job responsibilities

Working as part of the nursing workforce and wider MDT Supporting and running Physical Health Clinics - includes history taking, vitals, ECGs, bloods. Supporting body mapping of young people in line with standard operational policy and safeguarding policy. Attend ward round to support physical health needs - including meeting commissioning KPIs in relation to physical health. Supporting clinical oversight of physical health needs, care plans and patient pathways Auditing - including service development and supporting PEWs, IPC etc. Collaboration with Public heath in relation to sexual health, immunizations etc. Training and development of staff within and outside of HPFT - including working with universities and acute trust. Supporting neurodiversity on the unit and accommodating reasonable adjustments to support young person individual need. Continual personal and professional development to ensure care is evidence based and up to date in line with local, regional and national guidance and policy. Safeguarding children's experience and advocacy within the role. Person Specification

Qualifications/Education/Training

Essential

Children's Nurse (RSCN) Clinical experience working with children and young people within an acute setting Children's safeguarding experience and level 3 training On-going professional development in relation to clinical skills and knowledge in both physical health and mental health Knowledge and experience working with young people and mental health
