About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialty Doctor to join our multidisciplinary team in Hertfordshire, providing specialist input to children and young people with eating disorders. The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership to the Community Mental Health Team, covering patients living in Hertfordshire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide the psychiatric component of the CAMHS tier 3 service to the under 18 population in the Eating Disorder CAMHS Team.
  • Assess and manage eating disorders and co-morbid mental health conditions.
  • Undertake outpatient clinics, home visits, and participate in multidisciplinary case discussions.
  • Liaise effectively with primary care and mainstream mental health services.
  • Have regular clinical supervision with the consultant psychiatrist.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team and other agencies in health and social care as appropriate.
  • Assess risk and manage this with the help of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in regular Audit and Quality Assurance programmes to improve and maintain the high standard of service.
Requirements
  • Hold a MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Have a minimum of 4 years' full-time postgraduate training in psychiatry, with at least two years within a psychiatry training programme or as a fixed-term Specialty Trainee within psychiatry.
  • Have a minimum of 6 months' experience within CAMHS.
  • Be able to work well in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Have excellent clinical skills using a bio-psychosocial perspective and wide medical knowledge.
