What you'll do
As a Shift Technician, your key duties will include:
the operation of the sewage treatment process to meet quality and compliance standards providing support to the Shift Engineer with the overall operation of the site coordinating with the Shift Engineer to direct and manage the process operation of our Avonmouth assets in a safe and robust manner helping to run advanced wastewater treatment and sludge process plants overseeing operational and maintenance activities for our staff and contractors to maximise productivity and efficiency.You will play a big part in ensuring compliance with our regulators and company policy, processes and procedures. You must also ensure the health, safety and welfare of all colleagues, the public and yourself at all times.
As part of this role, you will work alongside other Shift Technicians to provide 24-hour coverage. You may be required to provide emergency cover if required.
What you'll need
You'll be working within a great team, outdoors, dealing with different challenges every day. This role is perfect if you are a practical-minded person and enjoy being hands-on and solving problems.
If you have previous experience working unsupervised in the water industry, that would be desirable. However, we are able to give consideration to those who have experience in general plant operation, groundworks or pipe fitting.
You must have a self-motivated work ethic, hard-working nature and good communication skills. This is a shift-based role, so you will be required to work your shift pattern which includes bank holidays and weekends.
You must be happy working outdoors in all conditions. Full training will be provided, including Confined Spaces training, as will other qualifications applicable to the role.
A valid manual UK driving licence is essential for this role.
