Role Summary
Student Nursing Associate programme leading to professional registration with the NMC as a Band 4 Nursing Associate.
The student will work as part of a team, delivering health and social care that focuses on the holistic needs of service users. They will carry out specific clinical tasks and responsibilities as delegated by Registered Practitioners and will be able to work across the boundaries of care and organisations. By the end of the 2-Year Programme they will have developed the ability to take responsibility for the comprehensive assessment, planning, treatment and evaluation of a caseload under the appropriate delegation of a Registered Practitioner.

If you are a non-registered Healthcare professional looking for the next step in your career, then an exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to apply to become a Student Nursing Associate. This is an innovative, fully funded role in Healthcare following a two-year programme of study leading to a Level 5 Foundation Degree in Healthcare Practice. The Nursing Associate role sits alongside existing Nursing Care Support Workers and offers support to a Registered Nurse, thus being pivotal in providing the workforce we need to support the emerging models of care.
During the programme, as a Student Nursing Associate Apprentice, you will be employed for 2 years as a Band 3 Senior Healthcare Assistant, while undertaking academic study with a University. The University costs for the programme are fully funded. It is a training programme that combines both academic and work-based learning in the physical, psychological and public health aspects of care from pre-conception to end of life.
The SNA programme is structured, with experience in a wide variety of placements across the breadth of health and social care sectors in different organisations, aiming to give trainees the widest exposure to healthcare. You are also expected to attend a Higher Education Institute (HEI) throughout the programme to complete the academic aspects of the qualification.
Essential qualifications required to apply:
NVQ / QCF/Apprenticeship Level 3 qualification in a healthcare-related area, or equivalent GCSE English and Maths grade 4 to 9 (A to C), OR Functional skills level 2 in Maths and English, OR Key Skills level 2 in Communication and Application of Numbers, OR A-Level in English and Maths grade E or above IT skills and access to own laptop/computer device for home study Access to own car or the ability to drive would be an advantage.Proof of the above qualifications is required prior to the interview date and WHEN ATTENDING FOR INTERVIEW.
You are also required to bring two forms of Photographic Identification to interview .
You will be required to complete eligibility and Declaration forms prior to Interview for University application.
If you are successfully shortlisted, you may also be asked to submit a HAND-WRITTEN piece of work on a value-based question by email before your interview. The topic title and word count will be emailed to you once shortlisted.
Working Pattern: Dependant on Clinical placement area, but will include long days, short shifts, nights, weekends, public holidays to meet the service needs. Weekly working hours of or hours per week.
Interview Date: Tuesday th or Wednesday th December 4
You will need to be available to attend a 'Welcome and Assessment Session' virtually with the University prior to start date if you are shortlisted for an interview. More details will be sent directly by the University.
