An exciting training opportunity to join the team initially at the Additional Support Unit (ASU) in Exeter for Adults with a Learning Disability and then at the new Regional Learning Disability and Autism Unit in Dawlish from mid 2025 (The Brook).

Our Programme offers you the chance to achieve a professionalqualification that forms part of the nursing family as a registeredpractitioner with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. It alsoforms part of our career pathway to train to become a Registered Mental Healthor Learning Disability Nurse, to enable you to build a career in one of theUKs most progressive Trusts.

In partnership with Plymouth University, you will join us as a Student Nursing Associate and over two years will undertake the NMC approvedFoundation Degree that leads to the professional qualification.

Alongside the weekly study day with the University which will be take place inExeter, you will have dedicated time in your working week to achieve therequired competencies of the role over the course of the Programme

Main duties of the job

Job Purpose

The Nursing Associatewill work as part of the team, delivering evidence based health and social carethat focuses on the holistic needs of service users. They will carry outspecific clinical tasks and responsibilities as delegated by registeredpractitioners.

Key Dates

If shortlisted, the recruitment process will involve:

Mandatory attendance at a virtual briefing session, delivered bythe Trust and University of Plymouth on 14th or 16th October 2024 delivered via MS Teams.

Joint Interviews carried out virtually with the University areexpected to take place 6th - 14th November 2024.

The academic programme has a start date of March 2025 although we willaim to have apprentices in post within the Trust before this date.

Dueto the current Government eligibility criteria for Government fundedapprenticeship schemes, we are currently only able to accept applications fromcandidates over the age of 16 who have been resident in the UK for the last 3years, and who are not already in any form of Government funded education.

Qualifications

Essential

English and Mathematics at GCSE grade C/4 or Functional Skills at level 2 Evidence of recent study to level 3. Applicants with previous study at level 4 or higher will be considered on an individual basis. Due to the current Government eligibility criteria for Government funded apprenticeship schemes, we are currently only able to accept applications from candidates over the age of 16 who have been resident in the UK for the last 3 years, and who are not already in any form of Government funded education

Knowledge and Skills

Essential
