SCIENCE TECHNICIAN: PROTOCOL EDUCATION

 

Monday – Friday, 08:00-15:30, term-time only.

35 hours per week

Are you a STEM graduate or existing Science Technician looking to join our vibrant Science Department in an esteemed, ambitious secondary school?

We are working on behalf of a reputable school in Sunderland to offer you the opportunity to support secondary school students in their science education, ensuring that lessons run smoothly and safely.

THE CANDIDATE

-          Graduate of science, holding a degree in Physics, Chemistry or Biology with at least a 2:1.

-          Knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures

-          Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.

-          Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

-          Passionate about science and education.

-          Previous experience in a laboratory setting.

-          Must have, or be willing to, undergo an enhanced DBS check.

-          Committed to ensuring the safeguarding of young people.

THE ROLE

-          Preparation of science apparatus and materials as required

-          Advising and assisting students in scientific experiments

-          Maintenance and cleaning of apparatus after use

-          Ensuring all apparatus is properly maintained and stored, assisting with stock control.

-          Compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
