Job summary

The Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO) is a key leadership post within MPFT which reports directly to the Chief Executive and is a non-voting member of the Trust Board. A high profile role at an extremely exciting time, the post holder will lead our award winning MPFT Digital Service, have complete strategic oversight of the Trust's Digital Strategy and will lead on realising our vision to establish MPFT as a true leader in the field of digital health services.

Digital services are pivotal to our wide-reaching transformation agenda and the CDIO will ensure that both our clinical and support services are enabled by digital processes, change and innovation.

You will ensure the Trust continues to drive forwards its successful digital transformation programme for our care groups, corporate services, service users and staff, whilst playing a fundamental role in realising Trust-wide productivity gains through successful adoption of new digital systems and processes. The candidate will be an enthusiastic, experienced and inclusive leader with a proven track record of successful delivery and managing highly motivated and effective teams at organisational and system level.

Main duties of the job

The portfolio includes all MPFT Digital services with both transformation and operational services, including acting as the accountable senior stakeholder for managing the Staffordshire and Shropshire Health Informatics Service partnership contract and performance arrangements for MPFT. It also includes taking overall responsibility for the Digital transformation programme and budgets, ensuring the annual programme delivers the Trust's business objectives, fully aligned and responsive to care group and business priorities.

You will collaborate with Integrated Care System peers on digital transformation and data intelligence initiatives, affecting positive change for our local populations through supporting integrated services with Health and Social Care partners.

The post will assume overall responsibility for the effective selection, adoption and performance of Trust digital and information reporting systems and will be accountable for monitoring and vigilance of all issues related to cyber security.

Job responsibilities

We are looking for someone who is educated to Maters level or with comparable experience, you will have extensive knowledge of NHS IT frameworks and an advanced understanding of the public sector. You will have extensive experience of working in very senior roles within large and highly regulated private or public organisations and will be expert in handling corporate business intelligence.

You will be highly experienced in providing technical IM&T support to the NHS or equivalent and must demonstrate a proven track record of managing and negotiating large contracts.

You are able to influence at the very highest levels, you can communicate compellingly with a variety of audiences and have impeccable interpersonal skills. You will already be a highly respected leader of successful teams which deliver outstanding customer service and you will have the ability to tackle challenging projects with both positivity and resilience.

You will be able to demonstrate broad competence against the six competency domains contained within the NHS Leadership Competency Framework for Board Members.
