Why join KPMG EWT as a Senior End User Computing Specialist?

KPMG's award-winning Digital Workplace team are responsible for all end user tools which provide the ability to connect, collaborate and communicate. Microsoft is at the heart of our enterprise stack with M365, Teams and a Windows Desktop providing a large portion of the estate.

The Digital Labs team is a small multi skilled team that look after all of the technical aspects of the Digital Workplace portfolio which comprises of many technologies including the Microsoft stack, 3rd party collaboration SaaS tools, workplace technologies and the network.

As part of the Digital Labs team, the role of the End User Computing (EUC) Specialist will drive EUC technology to deliver an effective, secure and reliable desktop experience to end users. Working in collaboration with other teams within the business you will deliver key business projects alongside Business-as-usual activities.

In addition, the role will proactively identify opportunities to improve the end user experience, deployment, and management of EUC technologies. In an ever-evolving EUC environment the role will also provide subject matter expertise to their peers and leadership.

What will you be doing?
Support the secure evolution of the desktop stack. Evaluating new and existing technologies ensuring that they work against an agreed design and provide a good user experience. Design and implement Intune configuration profiles/policies aligning to business needs enabling a secure but productive environment for end users. Configure and manage Microsoft Intune for device enrolment, application deployment and configuration/compliance policies. Configure and deploy Windows Autopilot enabling zero touch deployment. Fully understand a products behaviour and user experience, understand how policy changes effect behaviour, and assess any impact to the KPMG environment. Analyse how to test new features or desktop products, build test plans and execute and document testing and outcomes. Package and deploy applications with Microsoft Intune using the various deployment methods available within Microsoft Intune such as the Microsoft Win32 Content Prep Tool. Produce and maintain clear technical documentation including low level configuration or design and ensuring user documentation is correct and accurate from a technical perspective. Plan change to production and consider how they may affect risk, compliance or user experience. Build support models of a product to facilitate effective operations transition. Troubleshoot to resolution any escalated issues including liaising with 3rd party vendors and ensure this is done in a timely manner. Provide advisory role to the operations team. Take technical ownership of tools in the portfolio. Work collaboratively within Digital Workplace and EWT to ensure desktop products are effective and fit into the overall architecture.
What will you need to do it?
At least 5 years in the IT industry. Be inquisitive to how technology works and learn quickly. Experience of managing and provisioning endpoints in a large environment with expertise in technologies including, but not limited to: Microsoft SCCM, Intune, Desktop operating systems, Active Directory group policy, Azure Virtual Desktop, PowerShell Scripting, Microsoft Office 365. High level of understanding of Windows 10/11 including components and technology beneath with a solid knowledge of deploying and management of endpoints. Be able to demonstrate experience in being able to solve complex problems with Windows desktop operating systems. Proven Experience in designing and implementing MS Intune in line with guidelines, security standards and best practices. Competence in using Intune for complete device management including policy, application deployment, compliance, service rings, reporting and Windows Update for Business. A full understanding of autopilot. Be effective in managing time and 3rd parties to deliver against deadlines. Have good communication skills.
Skills we'd love to see/Amazing Extras:
Have hands on experience of supporting migration from SCCM and on-prem management to Intune. Deployment of devices on a large-scale using autopilot. Good working knowledge of Active Directory and Azure Active Directory in hybrid configuration. Managing desktop in a large professional services environment. Experience in co-pilot within the M365 stack. Building effective PowerShell scripts to assist in automation where customisation is required where configuration is not available out of the box. Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate Certification. Have experience with endpoint privilege management.
