Job Title: Senior Audit Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Audit Specialist to join our team at Hays Senior Finance. As a Senior Audit Specialist, you will play a key role in influencing the practices and procedures of audit firms by offering specialized services to improve their audit quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and perform work on one or more existing programs, including methodology reviews, reviewing audit files, and organizing round tables to help develop customers' understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Present to audit firms to provide feedback on services delivered and share good practice.
  • Upskill firms to audit PIEs, support the review of elements of their quality control systems, and aspects of their compliance.
  • Identify and develop innovative ways to support audit firms.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the program is operating as envisaged.
  • Develop and manage both internal and external stakeholder relationships to maximize the success of the program.

Requirements:

  • Be a Qualified Accountant with extensive experience as an auditor.
  • Have experience of work in the audit regulatory sector, including audit firm inspection, supervision, or quality control work.
  • Have experience of working at or with smaller audit firms, with a wide variety of audit engagements (various sizes and industries).
  • Have experience of developing and implementing new services, operational processes, and/or methods.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
