To be responsible for the management of the annual audit programme within CYPICS

The post holder will be based at the Children's Hospital, Queens Medical Centre Campus of NUH.

In this role you will lead on obtaining and maintaining joint paediatric accreditation with Sheffield Children's Hospital for autologous haematopoietic stem cell transplantation through JACIE. This will include interpreting and meeting the regularly updated FACT-JACIE standards and ensuring that documentation complies with the criteria set out in the standards.

You will be responsible for developing, authoring, implementing and maintaining all SOP's, policies and procedures related to the Paediatric Haematology/Oncology Stem Cell Clinical Programme, ensuring the dissemination of, new or updated, SOP's, policies or procedures to the paediatric Haematology/Oncology team.

You will be responsible for the completion of audits required by the JACIE standards, analysing and interpreting the results and making recommendations / implementing changes based on the outcomes.

Maintaining the training, competency and qualification records for the clinical staff involved in the Paediatric Haematology/Oncology Stem Cell Clinical Programme.

About us

The East Midlands Children's and Young Persons' Integrated Cancer service takes children and young people from 0 - 18 years with a diagnosis of cancer and leukaemia from across the region. Nottingham also hosts the Children's Brain Tumour Research Centre.

Nottingham Children's Hospital also work closely with Sheffield Children's Hospital caring for children and young people who have undergone haematopoietic stem cell transplantation

Person Specification

Training & Qualifications

Essential

Educated to degree level or equivalent Post graduate qualification in healthcare Demonstrable success in working for a complex organisation including experience in: Training and education Improvement projects

Desirable

Specifically trained in quality management Knowledge of clinical aspects of stem cell transplantation and JACIE accreditation Master's Degree

Experience

Essential

Knowledge of the research process, methodology and clinical audit Risk management Experience in Quality management systems and processes Evidence of audit experience including the ability to develop audit tools, collect and analyse audit data and advise on developments in clinical practice

Desirable

Previous experience in the NHS
