Role Purpose:

Support the development and implementation of an improved evidence-based performance management framework.

Support the translation of strategic and business plans into agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and the delivery of visual performance reporting to meet the needs of the performance framework, working with Directors, senior managers, and corporate colleagues.

Support the effective operation of the performance framework by co-ordinating the development activity, information flows, reporting outputs, and decision points across governance bodies and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

Managing the inputs, work scheduling, and delivery of outputs from Business Planning and Performance Management (BP&PM) team working with team members, corporate and directorate colleagues. Design and monitor target KPIs across the range of Inputs, Activities, Outputs, Outcomes, and Impacts agreed as part of the Business Plan and Performance Hub. Create PowerBi Dashboards, taking industry, corporate and supporting operational performance measurement needs into account, aligned to continuous improvement framework; and ensure actual, forecast, target, financials and commentary are completed. Support timely and accurate performance hub reporting, ensuring dashboards are refreshed, updated, and published, using Microsoft PowerBi. Offer guidance and constructive challenge in the development of robust and meaningful performance framework and measures, ensuring alignment between strategic and operational measurement. Engagement with colleagues across the business in the completion of performance hub data room data captures. Content owner and site development for SharePoint Performance Hub and communication of performance updates, to better engage staff and stakeholders with performance against our priorities and plans. Facilitating improvements by working with Performance Manager and Head of Business Planning and Performance Management to create an understanding and capability and promote a performance culture. Ensure the performance management file management system is secure and robust. Complete monthly data validation report, outlining key issues to Head of Business Planning and Performance Management. Consider and develop continuous improvement ways of working, including Information gathering, benchmarking, training, and development activities to build personal and team knowledge base on best practice corporate performance measurement and reporting. To cover in the absence of the Performance Manager

Effectively manage the performance of individuals and the team to ensure there is a clear line of sight between individual goals and objectives and the overall objectives of the team and wider organisation. Enable performance engagement and recognition through regular performance feedback and coaching where required.

Promote the importance of individual and team development and actively encourage the use of development tools, processes and conversations for personal and professional development. Take ownership of team succession and have development plans in place to mitigate areas of future risk.

3.Creating Stability

Communicating and upholding key principals and standards to ensure the team functions effectively and performs at its best. Effectively utilising, where appropriate, CITB policies and processes relating to key topics such as performance, behaviours, attendance and disputes to achieve a fair and consistent approach.

4.Role Modelling

Lead by example and represent the CITB values and behaviours in your communications and interaction with others to promote a positive culture that is based on fairness, inclusion and respect. Actively seek feedback and use this to enhance your performance and develop your leadership style.

Knowledge and Experience

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerBi Knowledge of performance measurement fundamentals, through an accredited source, and experience of application in practice to understand and implement performance measure development activity. Experience of planning at a corporate or business level – to understand how priorities and plans translate to KPIs and outputs. Experience of working in a corporate cross-business role with multiple stakeholders. An effective and confident communicator. Experience of managing conflict Attention to detail. Analytical Skills Prioritisation, co-ordination, and time management skills required to manage multiple stakeholder interactions on a broad range of performance related topics often to demanding deadlines.
