Role Overview:
Assist in the formulation and execution of a refined, evidence-driven performance management system.
Aid in translating strategic objectives and operational plans into defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and facilitate the delivery of visual performance reports tailored to the requirements of the performance management system, collaborating with Directors, senior management, and corporate partners.
Ensure the efficient functioning of the performance management system by coordinating development initiatives, information exchanges, reporting outputs, and decision-making processes across governance entities and external partners.
Primary Responsibilities:
Oversee the contributions, scheduling, and output delivery from the Business Planning and Performance Management (BP&PM) team, collaborating with team members and corporate and directorate colleagues. Design and track target KPIs across various dimensions including Inputs, Activities, Outputs, Outcomes, and Impacts as established in the Business Plan and Performance Hub. Develop PowerBi Dashboards, considering industry standards, corporate needs, and operational performance measurement requirements, aligned with a continuous improvement framework; ensuring actual, forecast, target, financials, and commentary are accurately reflected. Facilitate timely and precise performance hub reporting, ensuring dashboards are regularly updated and published, utilizing Microsoft PowerBi. Provide guidance and constructive feedback in the establishment of a robust and meaningful performance framework and metrics, ensuring alignment between strategic and operational measurements. Engage with colleagues across the organization to complete performance hub data room data captures. Act as the content owner and site developer for the SharePoint Performance Hub, communicating performance updates to enhance staff and stakeholder engagement with performance against our objectives and plans. Drive improvements by collaborating with the Performance Manager and Head of Business Planning and Performance Management to foster understanding and capability, promoting a culture of performance. Ensure the security and robustness of the performance management file management system. Prepare monthly data validation reports, highlighting key issues to the Head of Business Planning and Performance Management. Explore and develop continuous improvement methodologies, including information gathering, benchmarking, training, and development activities to enhance personal and team knowledge on best practices in corporate performance measurement and reporting. Provide coverage in the absence of the Performance Manager.Leadership and Team Development:
1. Performance Management
Effectively oversee the performance of individuals and the team to ensure alignment between individual objectives and the broader goals of the team and organization. Foster performance engagement and recognition through regular feedback and coaching.
2. Capability Development
Advocate for the significance of individual and team development, actively promoting the use of development tools and processes for personal and professional growth. Take charge of team succession planning and establish development plans to mitigate future risks.
3. Stability Creation
Communicate and uphold essential principles and standards to ensure the team operates effectively and achieves optimal performance. Utilize CITB policies and processes regarding performance, behaviors, attendance, and disputes to maintain a fair and consistent approach.

Exemplify CITB values and behaviors in communications and interactions with others to foster a positive culture grounded in fairness, inclusion, and respect. Actively seek feedback to enhance personal performance and refine leadership style.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerBi. Understanding of performance measurement principles, through accredited sources, with practical experience in implementing performance measure development activities. Experience in corporate or business-level planning to comprehend how priorities and plans translate into KPIs and outputs. Background in a corporate cross-business role involving multiple stakeholders. Strong and confident communication skills. Experience in conflict management. Detail-oriented. Strong analytical skills. Skills in prioritization, coordination, and time management to handle multiple stakeholder interactions on a wide range of performance-related topics, often under tight deadlines.
