Role Overview:

Assist in the creation and execution of a refined, evidence-driven performance management system.

Aid in translating strategic objectives and operational plans into defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and facilitate the production of visual performance reports tailored to the performance management framework, collaborating with senior leadership and corporate teams.

Ensure the smooth functioning of the performance management system by coordinating development activities, information flow, reporting outputs, and decision-making processes across governance structures and external partners.

Primary Responsibilities:

Oversee the contributions, scheduling, and output delivery from the Business Planning and Performance Management (BP&PM) team, working closely with team members and corporate colleagues. Design and evaluate target KPIs across various dimensions including Inputs, Activities, Outputs, Outcomes, and Impacts as established in the Business Plan and Performance Hub. Develop PowerBi Dashboards that address industry, corporate, and operational performance measurement requirements, ensuring alignment with continuous improvement strategies; ensure that actual, forecast, target, financials, and commentary are accurately represented. Facilitate timely and precise performance hub reporting, ensuring dashboards are regularly updated and published using Microsoft PowerBi. Provide guidance and constructive feedback in the formulation of a robust and meaningful performance framework and metrics, ensuring coherence between strategic and operational measurements. Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to complete data captures for the performance hub data room. Act as the content owner and site developer for the SharePoint Performance Hub, communicating performance updates to enhance engagement among staff and stakeholders regarding performance relative to our objectives and plans. Drive improvements by partnering with the Performance Manager and Head of Business Planning and Performance Management to foster understanding and capability, promoting a culture of performance excellence. Ensure the security and integrity of the performance management file management system. Prepare monthly data validation reports, highlighting key issues for the Head of Business Planning and Performance Management. Explore and implement continuous improvement practices, including information gathering, benchmarking, training, and development initiatives to enhance personal and team knowledge of best practices in corporate performance measurement and reporting. Provide coverage in the absence of the Performance Manager.

Effectively oversee the performance of individuals and the team to ensure alignment between individual objectives and the broader goals of the team and organization. Foster performance engagement and recognition through regular feedback and coaching.

Communicate and uphold essential principles and standards to ensure the team operates effectively and achieves optimal performance. Utilize CITB policies and processes regarding performance, behavior, attendance, and disputes to maintain a fair and consistent approach.

Exemplify the CITB values and behaviors in all communications and interactions, fostering a positive culture rooted in fairness, inclusion, and respect. Actively seek feedback to enhance personal performance and refine leadership style.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerBi. Understanding of performance measurement principles from accredited sources, with practical experience in developing performance measures. Experience in corporate or business-level planning, understanding how priorities translate into KPIs and outputs. Background in a corporate cross-functional role with diverse stakeholders. Strong and confident communication skills. Experience in conflict resolution. Attention to detail. Analytical abilities. Skills in prioritization, coordination, and time management to handle multiple stakeholder interactions on various performance-related topics under tight deadlines.
