About the Role: Financial Controller

We are currently looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our finance team. This pivotal role offers a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to manage and oversee our finance function. Our Finance team is primarily based in Southport, but we embrace a hybrid working model, making this role suitable for candidates located anywhere in the North West.

Key Responsibilities:

Produce monthly accounts and management information (MI) with the assistance of the management accountant. Present monthly board reports to the manager of each home, with bi-monthly reports to all Heads of Departments. Regularly review staffing levels and costs across each home, including monitoring agency spend. Analyse overhead spend and benchmark across the Group. Conduct quarterly covenant reporting and monitoring. Regularly monitor and forecast budgets. Drive process reviews and changes within the department. Partner with home managers to help them understand their home's performance and the impact of suggested changes. Undertake ad hoc projects such as business integrations, tenders for new contracts, and focus reports on specific homes. Oversee the department to ensure deadlines and business service needs are met.

Who We're Looking For:

Qualified accountant with at least 3 years of experience at a senior level. Excellent IT skills with confidence in using spreadsheets. Experience in the care industry is desirable. Team player with the ability to discuss financial details with non-finance professionals confidently. Access to a car and flexibility to travel to various sites as required.

Salary and Benefits:

Competitive salary from £45k depending on experience. Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. Private medical scheme. Generous annual leave entitlement. Hybrid working model with the flexibility to work at any of our 11 sites across the North West.
