**Salary**: £37,000 - £42,000 (commensurate with experience)

**The Role**:
**Department & Line Management**
- Proactively manage the finance department, including staff training, supervision, management support, KPIs, regular supervision and annual appraisals.
- Evolve and manage finance team roles, responsibilities, and objectives, providing staff with appropriate, timely and accurate information, training, and on-going development.
- Develop and manage personal and corporate objectives for the staff in line with the company’s business plan and strategy.
- Support the MD and Head of Operations in driving an efficient and effective culture within the business.

**Business Planning, Accounting & Reporting**
- Produce the Company’s business plan, annual budget, rolling 12-monthly moving forecast, and cost allocation to support business growth and assess potential risks.
- Produce accurate monthly and quarterly management accounts with supporting narrative on a timely basis.
- Present the Company’s performance to senior management, identifying key issues and potential corrective actions.
- Present the monthly accounts (including the balanced scorecard) to the business owners to aid with corporate strategy.
- Manage the financial year-end process and work with the Company’s external accountants for the production of financial statements and corporation tax computation.

**Finance Systems, Financial Control & Compliance**
- Lead on the development of financial controls whilst streamlining processes within the finance function.
- Develop and maintain robust and suitable financial policy and procedures, templates, reports and guidance.
- Ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities (reporting, submission and payment) such as P11Ds, PSA, Medical Data Return, Corporation Tax.
- Responsible for maintaining all financial records through Xero accounting software.
- Maintain the Company’s chart of accounts and ensure that supplier/customer contacts are kept up to date.
- Facilitate expansion of capabilities of in-house database integrated with accounting software.
- Lead on internal function audits as well as HR, Financial records, Client Accounts & Self funders documentation.

**Payroll**
- Manage Payroll platform and records & logins for all payroll staff.
- Analyse of time reports and hours analysis.
- Review and maintain holidays and sickness records, return to work and statutory leave.
- Issue P11Ds, P45s and P60s on timely basis.
- Ensure monthly and annual returns are made to HMRC within deadlines.
- Maintain PSA agreement and associated statutory reporting.

**Person Specification**

**Essential**
- Part qualification in recognised accounting institution (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) with a thorough practical understanding of management accounting principles and techniques.
- Experience in production and presentation of management accounts, including analysis and commentary on performance.
- Strong experience and knowledge of Xero software.
- Experience of integrated databases and accounting software.
- Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Confident communicator at all levels.
- Ability to support and guide colleagues on complex financial matters as well as general support on e.g., budgeting etc.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work as an effective and flexible team member and a willingness to accept ad-hoc work requests.
- A mature, proactive and diplomatic approach to the role and a commitment to producing high quality work.
