Purpose of Role
  • To provide a safe and secureenvironment for all staff contractors andvisitors.

  • Working as part ofthe wider team to ensure a high level of security and servicesdelivered.

Role and Responsibilities

Reporting to Senior Line Managers in the business thisrole is responsible for providing an exemplary level of securityand customer service on site and promoting the company brandthrough compliance of policies and procedures with a fair andconsistent approach. They will be the integral link between oursenior management team and our client and will be representing theCompany at all times whilst on duty. The Security Officer will beresponsiblefor:
  • Meet and greetvisitors contractors and staff.
  • Preventtrespassers from entering the site at all times.
  • Prevent antisocialbehaviour by providing a security presence and patrolling theinternal and external perimeters. Where required also recording thetimes of each patrol using the Patrol device provided.
  • Identify anyHealth & Safety issues around the site and report them tothe Line Manager.
  • Undertake regularpatrols to monitor the cleanliness of the site and record andreport any spillages to the relevant contractors.
  • Direct Cleaningstaff to areas requiring attention.
  • First point ofcontact for Police for any incidents and ongoing collaborationregarding sharing of local intelligence relating to knownindividuals and incidents.
  • Preserve assets ofclients and site Contractors such as vehicles tools andmachinery.
  • Maintain asecurity log of all activities and incidents occurring during theshift for audit purposes complete the Daily Occurrence Book duringeach shift.
  • To serve as aprincipal source of information on rules and procedures governingsecurity and Health and Safety operations on sites.
  • Ensure safetyregulation compliance at the sites and that PPE is worn whererequired by both contractors visitors to site establish securitypatrol priorities and assist in crime prevention by identifyinghigh risk areas and initiates actions to reduce riskexposure.
  • Take necessaryaction in the event of emergency in accordance with assignmentinstructions and report all incidents to the LineManager.
  • Safeguard all thesite keys manage and log the issue and return of keys and ensurethat keys are issued only where authorisation isvalidated.
  • Ensure that theFire regulations are adhered to at all times.
  • Any otherreasonable request made by the Line Manager.
  • Any other duty asdetailed by the Company.
Due to the nature of our business this isa developing job description and additions or changes will be madeas and when the need arises with full consultationbeforehand.

From time to time you may be required toperform additional reasonable duties other than those mentioned inthis job description on request from the Line Manager.

Requirements
Person Specification

  • Must hold a validfrontline SIA Licence or be eligible to obtain one
  • Knowledge ofworking within the security industry
  • Experience ofworking within the security industry (preferable)
  • Ability to workflexible hours including days nights and weekends and sometimes atshort notice where required
  • Excellent commandof the English language
  • Firstratecommunication skills verbal and written
  • Excellent personalpresentation
  • Strong reliablededicated individual who is able to be resilient and steadfast atall times
