We are looking for an experienced Community Engagement & Fundraising Officer to join our team to promote ourorganisation and its work by helping to raise awareness of FDAMH, its services and support income generation.Working closely with the Community and Communication team members, you will be involved in community events andfundraising activities within FDAMH and the local area.

The purpose of the role is to ensure that our community is aware of, and benefiting from all of the services that weoffer and will maximise income generation by diversifying funding streams that will engage the public andbusinesses to become supporters of FDAMH.

To be successful in this post you should have a proven track record in engaging with the local community, achievingfundraising targets and securing donations from a diverse range of sources. You’ll also bring lots of energy, bereliable and can confidently use initiative

The Fundraising & Engagement Coordinator will report to the Fundraising & Engagement Leader, contributing tothe delivery of our strategic objectives.

Whilst the role will work collaboratively to support all income streams, we are particularly keen to hear from anyonewho has prior Corporate Partnership and/or Major Donor experience.

We are looking for someone who is naturally optimistic and empathetic, with a can-do attitude. You will be aself-starter, comfortable working independently, who thrives on building meaningful relationships. Applicantsshould enjoy and have a track record of working in a fast-paced and varied environment.

Successful applicants will have a positive attitude towards dementia, along with excellent communication skills and acaring manner. A pro-active approach to learn and participate in training will also be expected.

The Fundraising & Engagement Leader will report to the Head of Fundraising & Engagement, collaborativelyleading the team’s delivery of our strategic objectives.

While not essential, we are particularly keen to hear from anyone who has prior Corporate Partnership and/or MajorDonor experience. In particular, this role will focus on the establishment and delivery of a major donorprogramme and the development and leadership of our corporate partnerships strategy and implementation.

We are looking for someone who is driven, comfortable working independently and has a track record of working in afast-paced and varied environment. We are looking for two Community Activity Organisers who will be responsible for developing and facilitating a widerange of community activities for people living with dementia and their carers/families with a view to helpingthem to maintain social activities, relationships and community connections.

The successful applicant will have a positive approach to dementia. You will be flexible, inclusive, creative, andorganised in your approach. You will be sensitive and compassionate with the ability to support people in timesof difficulty or distress. You will be an excellent communicator who can work effectively both with individualsand with groups. You will have a positive approach to your own continued professional development and awillingness to participate in relevant training. A relevant qualification and previous experience of workingwith people with dementia would be an advantage.

Are you a creative and motivated individual with the passion and drive to support people with a recent diagnosis ofdementia to live well in their community?

If so, you can be part of a National Team of Post Diagnostic Support Link Workers (PDS Link Workers) providinghigh-quality, person-centred support to people living with dementia and their families for a minimum of a yearfollowing diagnosis in line the Scottish Government’s minimum guarantee.

The aim of the PDS National Service is to enable people to live well with dementia and is centred around AlzheimerScotland's 5 pillar model so that people move on to a period of supported self- management.

The model includes understanding the illness and coming to terms with the diagnosis, peer support, connecting andmaintaining links with their community along with planning for future care and decision making to develop anoutcome focused plan to support their future hopes, desires and aspirations.

Supporting our Perth locality, the post will be based within the North Perthshire Community Mental Health Team.Alzheimer Scotland’s PDS Link Workers are required to be effective team workers and have the skills to build andmaintain relationships with colleagues both within Alzheimer Scotland, the NHS and other stakeholders.

Skills in using digital platforms are essential as we use a blended approach to support people that involve somevirtual meetings and on-line groups.

Applicants must hold a recognised relevant professional qualification, have a good understanding of dementia and howit affects people and their families along with excellent communication skills, a warm flexible approach,combined with skills in empathy and relationship building.

In addition, you should have skills and knowledge at the Enhanced Level of the Promoting Excellence Framework or beable to evidence you are working towards its completion.
