Job summary

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is looking for a talented and motivated person to work within the clinical effectiveness team to provide leadership to the team.

Main duties of the job

Create, implement, and manage the Trust's Clinical Effectiveness Programme.

Support staff to improve quality of care through clinical audit and implement nationally agreed guidance and clinical standards/performance indicators.

Develop and review clinical effectiveness policies and procedures, ensure consistency, quality, on time and within budget.

Lead on delivery of clinical effectiveness-specific projects and proficient in using AMaT clinical audit management tool.

Support and advise on implementing and delivering audit and NICE guidance requirements and monitor progress to ensure participation and submission deadlines met/escalated as appropriate.

Your organisational, data analysis, and presentation skills are essential and your knowledge and experience in clinical audit are critical. Your ability to think strategically and analytically will be your strength in successfully managing your role.

Your written skills will be excellent as you will produce clinical effectiveness policies, procedures, and reports for various bodies, including the Executive Management and Audit Committees.

You will have line management skills and experience, and knowledge of the clinical audit cycle and national governance and quality improvement agenda. Your communication skills and experience must be exceptional to inspire and motivate to drive forward initiatives in clinical audit and quality improvement across the Trust.

You will have collaborative and mature relational leadership skills.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

Essential

Educated to degree level or equivalent experience Management/leadership qualification or equivalent experience Medical knowledge/ terminology Evidence of continued study of NHS related issues/CPD

EXPERIENCE

Essential

Clinical audit experience in an acute NHS trust Experience of working in a management role which included leading and motivating a team Experience of PSIRF and how clinical audit supports the framework and learning outcomes.

SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE

Essential

Ability to manage the development and delivery of large clinical audit and effectiveness projects Ability to deliver the audit programme within the agreed resources Ability to deliver clinical Audit/effectiveness and IT skills training for healthcare professionals and CAE staff Excellent presentation and report writing skills. Effective interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills Ability to facilitate change resulting from audit projects Excellent time management skills to ensure that personal audit portfolio is maintained Excellent skills in Microsoft products, in particular Excel Confident in mastering specific audit software

Knowledge of the clinical audit software AMaT
