Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the ELHT Treatment Room Service as a Band 3 Administrator.

We invite candidates that are keen, enthusiastic and committed to improving patient services, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure in order to provide comprehensive administration support to the service.

We are a busy, friendly team currently working across East Lancashire and about to merge with Blackburn with Darwen. It is important the post holder is able to work flexibly at times, using their own initiative and organisational skills to complete tasks.

The service is made up of a wide group of staff who support each other and are driven to provide excellent customer service and meet organisational needs.

Although based at Yarnspinners PHCC the successful candidate will be able to travel across East Lancashire on occasions to attend meetings / training etc.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, motivated person.

An u nderstanding of the need for confidentiality and previous administration experience is essential as is the ability to work both in a team and unsupervised.

Strong IT skills are essential to this post as is being an excellent communicator with exceptional organisational skills. The post holder must have experience in minute taking.

Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria
  • GCSE in English & Maths - Grade 4 -9
  • NVQ L3 Business Administration, or equivalent experience
  • RSA 11 typing or equivalent standard
Experience Essential criteria
  • Experience of administration in an office based environment
  • Experience in meeting planning and minute taking
  • Working on own initiative
Knowledge and Skills Essential criteria
  • Ability to multi-task in a busy environment, whilst dealing with constant interruptions
  • Good verbal and written communications skills – legible handwriting
  • Ability to produce accurately typed and photocopied documents efficiently and to a high standard
  • IT skills using Microsoft Office
