Admin and Clerical Officer- Breast Imaging Team

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Breast Imaging Team.
To work in close partnership with other members of the breast imaging and multi-disciplinary team. Provide a high quality, customer responsive, confidential and user-friendly service, to clients, patients, relatives, and all health care professionals that use the East Lancashire Breast Screening Service and Symptomatic Breast Imaging Service. Provide a reception service in the breast imaging unit, attending patients and clients, booking appointments for both symptomatic and screening patients, inputting of patient information using the appropriate Trust information systems (Cerner, CRIS) and National Breast Screening Service (NBSS) computer system and dealing with patient and client queries.
You need to be an enthusiastic individual, friendly and approachable with attention to detail and good telephone manner.
Undertake reception duties and receive patients in a pleasant and understanding manner, recording patient arrival and patient non-attendances (DNA’s) on CRIS/NBSS.
Input of data to radiology/breast screening computer systems, checking patient information. Update client identification information on NBSS/CRIS/PACS.
Dealing with telephone and general enquiries.
Booking examination procedures on CRIS/NBSS, ensuring requests are booked in compliance with urgency status.
Generating appropriate appointment letters using CRIS/NBSS, ensuring appointment letters are sent in a timely manner in accordance with the unit targets.
East Lancashire Breast Imaging Department is committed to providing high quality care for all clients/patients attending for Breast Imaging. Imaging is undertaken for East Lancashire Breast Screening and Symptomatic Services, delivered at the base unit and at the various sites in the community visited by the mobile breast screening unit. Our department has 1x Hologic Selenia Dimensions 3D Tomo, 2x Hologic Selenia Dimensions 2D, and 1x Fuji Amulet Innovality also tomo enabled. 3x Samsung RS85 Ultrasound machines. Our double ended mobile van is equipped with 2x Hologic Selenia Dimension.

Breast Imaging sits within the radiology directorate and the Diagnostic Clinical Support Division. This is a close knit highly motivated team who support each other within their respective roles. The department has 11 A&C staff and 27 clinical staff ranging from Clinical Assistants to Consultant Radiographers and Radiologists.

Cancelling and re-scheduling appointments as necessary, either over the phone or face to face at the reception desk.
Liaising with administration, clinical staff and breast screening assistants to ensure patients are seen on time.
Daily printing of clinic lists, and other relevant paperwork required for all breast screening sites and symptomatic clinics
To prepare and provide documentation for the image readers, including verification of screening images on the Breast Unit PACS. Process and produce normal result letters and despatch to women.
