We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mammography Assistant Practitioner to join our team at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our Breast Imaging Department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform mammography examinations to the highest standard, ensuring optimum diagnostic imaging quality and adhering to departmental protocols.
  • Participate in the updating of procedures and protocols to reflect changes in practice, ensuring continuous improvement in patient care.
  • Actively participate in equipment quality control and safety checks, documenting all test parameters and reporting any equipment faults or test results outside acceptable limits.
  • Provide professional support, guidance, and leadership to less experienced members of staff, including trainee mammography practitioners, assistant practitioners, mammography assistants, and radiography students.
  • Ensure a high level of environmental quality is achieved by maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in all areas at all times, while complying with infection control policies.
Requirements
  • Maths and English GCSE pass or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in the NHS, preferably in a Breast Screening unit.
  • Computer literate with good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a team, with a flexible approach to periods of work to meet the needs of the service.
