Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Improvement Team in a brand new permanent role as an Assistant Project Support Officer. The Trust Improvement Team helps support and deliver the work as set out by NHS Impact and we are two years into the Trust's continuous improvement journey. The successful post holder will join our established Improvement Team and will work with our Executive colleagues and colleagues across the Trust as well as system partners to continue to implement a culture of continuous improvement. You must have a passion for putting patients first and a strong desire to help our teams fulfil their improvement projects and programmes of work and support the adaptation and adoption of redesigned processes across the Trust.

Main duties of the job

To ensure all staff within the Improvement Team are fully supported with Improvement projects and programmes work including timely completion of associated administration tasks.

Develop a working knowledge of all aspects of the Improvement System

Support the accurate production of project and programme correspondence and documents utilising Microsoft Office suite to a high standard.

Collate, analyse, monitor and present project and programme data and information as required using Improvement System tools and techniques.

Build and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the Trust and with our wider healthcare partners.

Communicate effectively with internal/external stakeholder, resolving and answering queries promptly and escalating queries to the Project Lead where necessary.

Develop a process to accurately record and monitor the progress of projects and programmes and ensure tracking of key milestones.

In conjunction with the Improvement team, plan and prepare for improvement projects and programmes, data gathering to understand the current state.

Co-ordinate and provide support for relevant Project Leads meetings.

Co-ordinate and prioritise own workload on daily basis, supported by the Improvement Specialist.

Effectively plan, resource, and monitor small-scale projects independently or under supervision of an Improvement colleague.

Support with the acceleration of share and spread of improvement initiatives across the organisation.

The Assistant Project Support Officer will support the Improvement Team in delivering a variety of projects both across the Trust and in conjunction with wider healthcare system partners. The post holder will provide assistance with tasks to support the delivery of Improvement projects and programmes run by the Improvement Team and support the wider workplace leaders and colleagues throughout our Trust using the tools and techniques of the Improvement System. The Project Lead for each Improvement Project will usually be an Improvement Facilitator, Improvement Specialist or Senior Improvement Specialist. The post will be a blended role in conjunction with the Project Management Office providing project support. The postholder will be specifically involved in supporting the acceleration of share and spread of improvement initiatives across the organisation.
