We, at BSS part of the Travis Perkins Group, and we have a brilliant opportunity for a National

Tenders Manager to Manage and lead the National Tenders team ensuring they are meeting and

exceeding the agreed SLA’s. This is an essential part of the BSS tenders and bids, vital in helping us

to win business and ensuring our continued success. You’ll also manage the delivery of our Work

Winning strategy for both colleagues and customers at a local level through amazing project sales

management.

Working hours - Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

In this exciting role you will create and build one National Tenders Team by managing, leading and

developing the team to ensure that they have the right training and support where required. By

working with Directors, National and Regional Key accounts, you will be ensuring we offer World

Class service.

With your natural organisation skills and love of working collaboratively, you will enjoy taking

responsibility and will be confident in taking on a variety of everyday challenges, while maintaining

great customer and colleague relationships.

What will I be doing?

● Developing succession and training plans for each colleague to ensure development and

progression opportunities are available.

● Managing the team to ensure that performance metrics are met

● Managing the workflow of plant and valve package tenders that are received into the

office and allocation to the tender negotiators to maximise the service offering to the

customer to meet customer expectations

● Working with the tenders negotiators to ensure that we are maximising the opportunities to

quote products for tenders received. Covering both BSS and TF Solutions opportunities.

● Working closely with the clusters of BSS & TFS to promote the offering of the team through

BM & AM meetings

● To ensure that the team are offering a consistent approach and service to both internal and

external customers

● Holding regular meetings with key suppliers on areas such as price support, new products,

tender management, training.

● Work with the regions to ensure that the correct pricing parameters are used for

competitive tendering pricing.

● To make sure that QMS is being followed up and updated by the team until contracts are

awarded and that there is a smooth handover to the branches / Account Managers

● To review opportunities for Technology to record / track / review projects

● Create and monitor KPIs for sharing with key business stakeholders

What experience do you need?

Previous experience within sales would be advantageous, but not essential. We just need

transferable skills such as, the ability to lead a team through change, research and analytical

problem-solving, along with teamwork and product offering. Previous experience regarding tenders

and bid writing would be beneficial for this position.
