Job summary

The NHS has embarked upon an ambitious modernisation programme with a key objective to improve its service to patients. This programme is underpinned by Information Technology and the electronic patient record. The Trusts commitment to the national programme delivering technology-enabled change includes the implementation of a number of interim and long-term IM&T solutions. It is necessary to introduce new working practices and procedures to achieve optimum benefit from the new IT.

The Project Support Officer will provide essential support to the programme in project administration and will support the team in delivering new technology and processes in the clinical environment.

The Project Support Officer will need to be able to communicate information effectively, concisely and accurately in a constantly changing environment. The post holder will be expected to work autonomously within their own area, seeking guidance from the Portfolio Delivery Manager & Project Manager(s) as required.

Main duties of the job

To support the Portfolio Delivery Manager & Project Managers in project administration:

To ensure project files are up to date and auditable.

To monitor the risk and issue logs and ensure they are up to date.

To ensure lessons identified are logged and appropriately circulated.

To ensure project communications are carried out in accordance with project communication plans.

To manage meetings from set up through to minute taking and action tracking

Other administrative duties as required

To support the Portfolio Delivery Manager & Project Managers and NPIC team in their change management & business process re-engineering activities:

Arrange Stakeholder workshop/meeting and prepare documentation.

Obtain & evaluate participant feedback.

Carry out system testing in accordance with scripts provided by the Responsible Manager Implementation Analyst as required.

To manage meetings from set up through to minute taking and action tracking.

Other duties as commensurate with the grade and role as agreed with line manager.

The post holder is required to liase with the following staff or groups of staff:

Project/Programme Boards.

Project/Programme team members.

Implementation Analysts CSU staff and management.

Pan Leeds Information Skills Team for professional training support.

Trust Training Team Patient Administration Trainers.

Other project teams and staff groups as necessary.

National Pathology Imaging Co-operative (NPIC) is Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust's digital pathology service. NPICs prime objective is to improve pathology services and patient outcomes through the deployment of digital pathology systems in hospitals across the country.
