Job summary
The Professional Education and Strategic Leadership - Nursing and Midwifery Team are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Project Support Officer to join their PMO team, working across the nursing and midwifery education agenda, contributing to the delivery of the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be able to provide comprehensive project administration support, you will be highly organised, able to multitask, problem solve and prioritise your own workload with minimal supervision. You will be conscientious with meticulous attention to detail and see tasks through to conclusion including leading, delegating and overseeing the workload of others. You will be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and be confident in using all MS Office packages and be capable of learning how to use other digital platforms with training. You will work with a wide and varied range of stakeholders at all levels.
You will be educated to degree level or have an equivalent level of knowledge or experience in a similar area. Skills to influence, negotiate and manage challenging conversations with tact and diplomacy will also be useful in these roles. The right candidates will demonstrate drive and enthusiasm for the service they will deliver.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

This is a high profile and exciting programme of work and the postholder will use their expert knowledge of the national nursing and midwifery agenda to play a key role in developing a workforce with the appropriate skills, competencies and knowledge to deliver new models of care across a range of settings.
NHS England operates a hybrid model of working with 40% in person working and 60% home working expected. As a national organisation there may be some requirement to travel nationally and stay overnight on occasion to support events and activities associated with the training, so a flexible approach is needed.
