Main duties of the job

Triaging incoming requests from patients via website and Accurx. Supporting with the management of incoming communications/medication requests from patients

The role also includes reception/care navigation when required:

Greeting and directing all patients. Making appointments. Accepting, issuing and handing out prescriptions, letters, completed forms, specimen bottles, etc. Dealing with requests for information and managing problems and complaints. Advising patients of practice procedures. Registering new patients. Answering the telephone, promptly.

You will be required to work flexibly covering colleagues in administration and reception/care navigation during busy periods, sickness and annual leave.

Stanhope Surgery is a training practice hosting GP VTS registrars, Cambridge University medical students and physician associate students from the University of Hertfordshire. We are CQC-rated good, with excellent QOF achievements. We are located close to London, on the M25, with good public national transport links.

Essential

Excellent communication skills, with a clear and polite telephone manner. Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, always respecting patients. Experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations. Confidence to work as part of a team and ability to "think on your feet"; Strong IT and administration skills.

Desirable

Previous medical or healthcare receptionist experience is very desirable.
