Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Community Team Manager Band 7 (Mental Health Nurse B7) to join the Specialist Perinatal Community Mental Health Team in Suffolk on a part time basis ( hrs an integral part of the leadership team, you will be responsible for supporting the Deputy Service Manager and leadership team in ensuring that our service users' needs are met through the delivery of high-quality care. The team are committed in keeping the family at the centre of care and normalising the experience of pregnancy and being a mum. We have a philosophy of early intervention and ensure that we capture the babies voice in the work that we aim is to reduce barriers to access services and aim to empower and build confidence for mums to be the best mothers they can be and enhance their experience of being a mother. Our Multi-disciplinary team are made up of Nursery Nurses, Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychologist, Psychiatrists, Parent/Infant therapist and peer workers, the teamwork in a variety of environments and alongside our Acute trust colleagues and the voluntary and charity sector. Main duties of the job

We are looking to appoint a Band 7 Community Team Manager (Mental Health Nurse)

You will be joining the service at a very exciting time and will play a key role in helping the service to deliver on the NHS long-term plan and our continued expansion. Ideally the post would suit somebody with experience of perinatal mental health and/or working with families, although we would welcome interest from staff with experience in other areas who can demonstrate that they share our passion and values.Ideally the successful candidate would also have experience in leadership and management. There will be developmental opportunities and comprehensive induction for the successful candidates.

The post holder in conjunction with the Deputy Service Manager and clinical leads will be expected to provide strong clinical leadership and expertise in the MDT to ensure effective care and clinical governance, as well as supporting staff through supervision.

As part of the role, you will be expected to maintain existing, and build strong links with both primary and secondary care.

You will be expected to also hold a small caseload.

The team operate across Suffolk, and we work from patients own homes, community hubs, as well as having identified basis in both West Suffolk (West Suffolk Hospital ) and Ipswich (Grange Lodge, Kesgrave, Ipswich).

Role Summary:

The Community Team Manager role is responsible for the operational management of a range of aspects of service delivery within the team and for clinical/managerial supervision of professional staff according to the trust values. To ensure safe caring, responsive, high quality service is provided to service users, their families and carers within the clinical environment by ensuring compliance with Statutory and Regulatory requirements and Trust Policies, pathways, standard operating procedures and protocols. They will allocate work accordingly within the team to ensure effective and efficient use of resources to ensure service users and carers needs are met, and monitor the teams contribution and performance to the overall objectives of the Trust. The Community Team Manager will provide professional governance and leadership within their area

Qualifications

Essential

Nursing degree or equivalent, Dip SW or Dip OT or equivalent, or HCPC registered

Desirable

Ongoing professional development working towards degree level Higher degree or post graduate certificate in area of clinical / therapeutic practice Post basic teaching qualification ILM certificate in management or equivalent

Experience

Essential

Able to demonstrate experience at a senior clinical level including staff management/supervisi on experience. Experience of working within a multi disciplinary team Evidence of providing leadership in a Mental Health care environment including service development
