An opportunity has arisen in the Operations & Innovation service within the Climate & Inclusive Growth Directorate for a Programme Delivery & Projects Officer.

This role is being offered on a fixed term month basis.

About the Climate and Inclusive Growth Directorate (CIG)

The Role

The role is part of a multi-disciplinary team who undertake a wide and varied range of work. Workstreams include project delivery, programme management, as well as provision of critical back-office functions. 

In this role you will:

need to have a good understanding of finance, particularly in relation to built environment functions such as Planning and Building Control. They will also need to have the ability to deliver as a team (and autonomously) key projects relating both to the O&I team, as well as the wider Directorate.  Carry out essential financial administration tasks to support the day-to-day functioning of the Planning, Transport and Sustainability division this will include: Raising invoices Reconciling receipts Chasing up debtors Raising Purchase Order requests Setting up suppliers Support the programme management of Planning Performance Agreements including providing analysis of resource and spend Support the recruitment process of the Planning and Building Control services, including posting requests on in-house systems Research topics to support briefings, and support work to undertake benchmarking exercises

Requirements

Good mathematical and written ability Strong excel, word and PowerPoint skills General knowledge of Planning or other built environment services Experience of back office/simple book-keeping type tasks welcomed (although training will be given)  Ability to apply differing methodologies to analyse data
