The role: Aircraft Duty Engineer
Responsible for providing technical guidance and supervision and on the day direction of people and resources to support and deliver the operation. Accountable for meeting agreed targets ensuring regulatory compliance and required standards of safety, quality and airworthiness standards are maintained.
Work in partnership with a business area of circa. 100 MPE providing expertise, advice and support.
What you’ll do:
Deliver the operation to defined production targets ensuring adherence to the maintenance plan and aircraft compliance. Provide Technical support as first point of contact for operational colleagues and give technical feedback and escalation as appropriate to technical specialists and Planning. Support incident and accident management IAW company procedures. Champion high quality standards, monitor trends, and coordinate continuous improvement in order to define and implement permanent solutions. To ensure communication of aircraft in work status, and coordinate requirements between Planning and Production departments. Capture and analyse technical data, ensuring performance targets are achieved against operational measures. Support the development of a high-performance team and culture, in line with the company Hallmarks. There is an expectation that you will undertake adhoc work on an exceptional basis or provide relevant cover for other team tasks.
What you’ll bring to British Airways:
Stakeholder Management Analysis and interpretation of data Leading or implementing process improvement Delivering to customer and business requirements Ability to progress complex aircraft maintenance tasks and inputs Strong IT literacy
Your experience:
Aircraft maintenance B licence holder with demonstrable experience of certifying in an aircraft maintenance environment Engineering degree Or educational equivalent and experience of working in a Pt 21 or Pt M environment supporting Pt 145 Ability to hold EASA C licence (Essential in Base Maintenance Environment). Valid full UK driving licence (or equivalent) (desirable) Ability to hold an airport restricted zone access (essential for Terminal based role) Desirable to hold, and ability to gain CRS on relevant Aircraft Types for the area
