Aircraft Metalwork Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Workshop Metalwork Technician to join our Aircraft Workshop Services team at British Airways. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and fabrication tasks under the supervision of our experienced engineers.
Key Responsibilities- Perform maintenance and repair tasks on aircraft components, including sheet metal fabrication, welding, and heat treating.
- Conduct general workshop and hand skills, including installing and removing fasteners, drilling, sanding, cleaning, and painting.
- Work in a safe and secure manner, adhering to all relevant health and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of aircraft systems and components.
- Recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
- Experience working in an aircraft maintenance environment, with a strong understanding of workshop authorisation and safety procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering data and technical publications.
- Ability to write engineering data, including job cards and maintenance records.
