Our Production teams play a key role in ensuring our raw materials areprocessed and packaged correctly and efficiently to create our finishedproducts for distribution.

The Plant Manager role (based at our Ditton (Widnes) site) is a Core Leadership role, responsible for deliveryof multiple products safely, to the highest quality standards, through batchmanufacture across different assets utilising various upstream and downstreamprocessing technologies.

The products made at Ditton are at the fore front of sustainableingredients that go into personal care, home care and crop care products. These products are critical, as Croda looksto lead the way in supporting our customers with “effect” chemicals andsustainable ingredients that will support the decarbonisation of global supplychains.

As Plant Manager, you will be coordinating operations for productdelivery, continuously improving standards in SHE, Quality and manufacturingexcellence for your plant asset in order to meet existing and future businessrequirements. To achieve this, key responsibilities include:

Ensuring plant equipment and the production teams comply with the site Safety, Health and Environmental legal and company requirements. Product Quality and site Quality management standards are adhered to providing the assurances for our customers and site certification. Knowledge of plant processes and products and be accountable for decisions made within the plant area. Monitoring batch progress against the production schedule, effectively communicating status to supply chain teams. Proactive in optimising overall manufacturing performance, utilising key indicators such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness, Right First-Time rate, throughput and batch yield in order to drive efficient and cost-effective processes. Strive for continuous improvement onsite alongside process development and engineering teams through review of plant systems, processes and technologies. Demonstrating leadership and be visible promoting the Operations strategy for the site (set out by the Site Leadership Team) to the production teams. To monitor stock to agreed levels and control costs for plant area to meet the Operations budget. Root cause investigations are conducted to ensure that any underlying issues are tackled with corrective/preventative actions put in place and followed through.

The Ditton site is looking at a Transformation Plan that will spend> £100M to 2030 as we:

Upgrade our Site Infrastructure Replace and increase capacity with a new Biopolymers Plant Significant investment in R&D (new Technical Centre) Expand and upgrade our capability in Biotech production Decarbonise our operations with a target of net zero by 2030

As a Plant Manager, you will have a key role in contributing to theabove transformation plan and its execution onsite.

Essentials:

Demonstrate understanding of SHE and Quality standards/regulations Degree (or equivalent experience) in relevant technical discipline (for example chemistry, engineering, biotechnology) with minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing operations IOSH/NEBOSH certification Good planning and organisation skills are required to manage multiple workstreams Ability to assimilate a wide variety of information in a timely fashion and prioritise activities accordingly Confident in decision making abilities Previous Plant Management experience Ability to adapt to changing business requirements and work under pressure High level of interpersonal, influencing and communication skills Capable of building effective working relationships at all levels and working within teams Proactive, problem solver with attention to detail to resolve complex issues Have passion, enthusiasm, optimistic working attitude, team spirit and be self-motivated

Desirables:
