Role Overview
A new position has arisen to support the Lung Centre Team at the Cromwell Hospital as the department is getting busier and busier. You will perform conventional and complex respiratory tests in a range of clinical settings and there will be opportunity to learn and develop your skills. The clinic sees both adult and paediatric patients.
What you’ll do
You should be able to perform all conventional respiratory tests independently and will be provided support and opportunity to develop your skills with more complex tests, if needed.
Experience in the following tests is desirable:
Spirometry
Lung Function Tests
Reversibility Studies
Skin Prick Allergy Testing
FeNO
6-Minute Walk Tests (6MWT)
Respiratory Muscle Strength Assessment
Bronchial Provocation Studies (Mannitol and Methacholine)
Fitness-to-Fly
Hyperventilation
Cardiopulmonary Exercise Test (CPET)
Exercise Induced Bronchoprovocation (EIB)
Capillary Blood Gases (ear sampling)
Respiratory Polygraphy
What you’ll bring
You’ll have BSc in Clinical Physiology/ Healthcare Science and current ILS certification.
You’ll have experience in performing conventional respiratory tests unsupervised.
Experience in both an adult and paediatric setting is preferable.
Some knowledge and experience with more complex tests will be an advantage.
You should have some understanding of private healthcare service delivery and be flexible and adapt to change whilst continuing to perform to a high standard.
