Special Needs Classroom Support Assistant

A specialist SEN provision in Bolton is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Autism Support Assistant to join their team. This is an incredible opportunity to work in a nurturing environment students aged 11 to 18 who have Autism and complex learning difficulties.

Your Role

As an Autism Support Assistant, you will play a key role in keeping students engaged and facilitating their learning experiences. You will adapt activities to ensure they are accessible to all students, helping them achieve their full potential both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities
  • Academic and Social Development: Support students with Autism and complex learning difficulties in their academic and social development.
  • Personalised Learning Plans: Assist in implementing personalised learning plans tailored to the unique needs of each student under the guidance of the teacher.
  • Daily Living and Personal Care: Provide assistance with activities of daily living and personal care as required, ensuring the well-being of each student.
  • Positive Learning Environment: Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

  • Full-Time Role: 8:30 to 3:30, Monday to Friday

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
