Critical Care Nurse Educator

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive, highly motivated and passionate individual with expert Critical Care nursing skills to become part of the Education Team in Critical Care based at Hinchingbrooke Hospital, working in partnership with our Trust colleagues at Peterborough City Hospital with cross site work.Hinchingbrooke Critical Care Unit is a 10 bedded unit, funded to a dependency of 5, and supports a hospital campus with 250 plus beds. There are plans to rebuild and expand the Hinchingbrooke Hospital site over the next few years, and this will be an exciting phase in the development of the Critical Care Unit.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to educate and develop a team of staff, and role model the development of compassionate nursing skills promoting patient safety within the unit, ensuring the team is dedicated to delivering excellent care. The post holder needs to demonstrate the Trust's values and promote team working within the Unit and cross site with the wider role will consist of educator days.Opportunities exists to develop educational, managerial and leadership skills, with support of the Lead Nurse and Matron, and the wider resources available at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.

Job responsibilities
Provide a professional role model to staff working in accordance with the NMC code of professional conduct for nurses, midwives and health model highly skilled practice and interpersonal skills in the planning, delivery and provision, evaluation and supervision of care for critically ill patients and significant others.Appropriately report any act or omission that adversely affects care.Communicate openly with all staff and disciplines, hold responsibility to promote and ensure principles of good teamwork and harmonious working relationships are maintained within the a pro-active leader within the departmental team, initiating, undertaking and supervising practice development projects, innovation and ongoing development of the department.
