DescriptionPurpose of role London & Partners supports the growth journey of over 1000 businesses each year.

The ‘Senior Community Manager’ works to lead, develop and deliver our peer-to-peer networks and sector community events (including the FinTech Club, Climate Tech Club, Overlooked and Female Founders groups) and oversees our alumni community of start-ups, scale-ups, inward investors and corporate innovators, with the mission to drive their ongoing involvement in our community.
 
 

Key TasksEvents Programming & Content 
  • Oversee and deliver a cohesive and integrated world-class programme of virtual and in person events for London & Partners communities
  • Develop and implement event format, curation of content, key messages and objectives, delivery, performance management and ensure all events are of a very high quality and well attended. Where appropriate host or facilitate these events
  • Work closely with the L&P sector leads to develop high-quality speakers acquisition campaigns, including content relevant to our communities and sector growth trends
  • Play a key role in the production and delivery process of the business growth directorate  annual summit. This includes the update and development of existing processes plus the creation of new ideas in line with the overall event strategy
  • Manage budgets, purchase orders and liaise with Finance on reporting requirements
  • Negotiate contracts with events venues and providers 
  • Collaborate with partners and partnerships team to develop content and events campaigns 
  • Liaise with the marketing team to set, plan, and implement social media content and communication campaigns and strategies
 Communities
  • Drive the community strategy, developing programmes, processes, and communication tactics to foster community engagement, learning, and growth
  • Take ownership, moderate and directly communicate with our ever-growing scaleup alumni business communities and ensure they engage with relevant L&P opportunities. 
  • Publish a quarterly events programme for our communities. Work closely with Head of Business Marketing and Trade & Growth teams to ensure all programmes/events in the Directorate are communicated to clients
  • Develop a community strategy for clients based outside London including online and hybrid events as appropriate.  
  • Ensure that L&P project management processes are followed and the CRM is updated, maintained, and accurately records all community engagement. 
  • Ensure feedback (NPS) is monitored to continuously improve event satisfaction. 
  • Support the partnerships team in signposting to potential partners and with the delivery of activities related to any new commercial partners that sponsor relevant communities or events.
  • Build diversity, equity and inclusion considerations and practice into every aspect of our community and client engagement work, to ensure we are taking account of the differing or specific needs of our current and prospective customers.
 Line Management / Leadership
  • Line-manage one Programme Manager delivering sector communities programmes and  the directorate annual summit (November) 
  • Mentor junior members of the Community team, supporting their growth and success and building a collaborative, creative team environment that encourages fresh ideas and timely quality execution


You’ll have/bringSkills & Competencies Skills: 
  • Strong understanding of the start-up growth journey and key players within business support in London. 
  • Demonstrable track record of success in planning and delivering virtual and in person business events
  • Proven work experience as a community manager or similar role
  • Experience planning and leading community initiatives to identify and track relevant community KPIs 
  • Experience in public speaking, including presenting and moderating 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to craft copy to suit a wide variety of audiences and tones of voice, combined with a sharp attention to detail 
  • Experience in cross-business working to achieve challenging goals 
  • Excellent time and project management skills 
  • Ability to line manage experienced and high performing team members 
  • Experience of leading and motivating others 
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Knowledge of CRMs would be an advantage
