Job Duties:
  • Provide 1:1 support to a student with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Assist the student in their learning and development according to their Individual Education Plan (IEP)
  • Implement strategies to support the student's communication, social, and emotional needs
  • Work closely with the SENCO and classroom teacher to create a supportive learning environment
  • Maintain accurate records of the student's progress and behaviour
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Experience working with children or young adults with SEN, particularly ASD
Education:

Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification

Experience:

Experience working with SEN students, specifically ASD

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Understanding of SEN and strategies to support students with ASD
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Training in Autism-specific interventions
  • First Aid certification
Working Conditions:
  • Work in a classroom setting within a school environment
  • May require handling challenging behaviour
  • Full-time hours, temporary position

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
