Help strengthen our Team as our Release and Deployment Management Engineer. Home based role.

This is a great opportunity for you to be instrumental in supporting our development and management of our Release Management lifecycle service, within a fast pace and dynamic environment, which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across the enterprise and our customers, spanning multiple software and hardware vendors.

Releases will be inclusive of, but not limited to, vendor application updates / patches, operating system patches, security advisories / improvements, hardware (IOS & firmware), upgrades, projects and programs.

The role will be required to deploy and support Release Management policies, along with the processes behind the relevant policies and thereafter assist to provide overall Release Management and governance to the business and our customers.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Work with internal / external teams and vendors to develop, implement, and maintain, automation where feasible, across the Release Management Service Lifecycle. Work with wider shared services teams (NOC, Major Incident, Change, Problem, etc) in implementation of Release Management tools / procedures. Assist in the Release package design, build, configuration, and package acceptance including business sign off. Work alongside the automation team to develop and test new deployments. Responsible for building upon an evolving operating model & framework to enable fast paced changes and provide our customers the best possible prices and experience. Support the maintenance of the Lifecycle Manager (LCM) database, inclusive of data-entry requirements, maintaining data quality & data integrity. Create Change records and package release records specifying the effect on CIs within the Release Management service. Work with project and service support teams to ensure any potential CI’s are correctly identified and managed through a quality release management deployment programme. Ensure that the CMDB is updated with Release updates when a Change is implemented. Required to provide wider support within the Configuration Management space where required. Develop and maintain automated compilation and provision of customer lifecycle and management reports on release progress and EOL status.

What we’re looking for:

Experience with Release Management tools and processes. Understanding of testing methodologies, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing Hands-on experience with deployment and automation tools Ability to successfully manage and deploy changes and delivery of projects across the full systems development lifecycle. Sound technical knowledge and understanding of network technologies and operating systems. Possess mature interpersonal skills and is successful at developing and managing relationships at all organizational levels, both internally and externally. Ability to work well in a high-pressure environment, whilst maintaining focus, sense of urgency and decisiveness. Demonstrate relationship building, motivation and influencing skills to achieve results. Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative. Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude Excellent understanding of Service Management principles and Service Level metrics. Shows the ability to delegate effectively to technical staff, whilst maintaining full management control. Good documentation skills, specifically with regards to internal and customer processes. Knowledge or experience using BMC Remedy ITSM tool. Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills. Ability to obtain Enhanced CRB, BPSS and SC clearance is required
