Your tasks

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our Contract Logistics team. As a Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, securing, and developing new business opportunities within key vertical markets.

Location: Tamworth, will include travel to customers and other Schenker sites. Hybrid working is supported.

Salary: Competitive salary + sales incentive bonus + car/allowance + benefits

What will you be doing?

Sales Pipeline Development: Create and maintain a robust sales pipeline, focusing on key verticals such as Aerospace, Electronics and Automotive. Market Research and Cold Calling: Hunt for new business opportunities. Identify and target potential major clients, focusing on decision-makers within client organisations. Tender Management: Handle inquiries, RFIs, RFQs, and tenders from receipt to presentation Sales Presentations: Produce high-quality customer sales packs and presentations. Negotiation: Skilfully negotiate contract terms with potential customers. Collaboration: Work closely with the Product team to execute value propositions tailored to customer needs. Strategic Development: Support the strategic growth of the business unit in the UK. Solution Presentation: Confidently present class-leading solutions that align with DB Schenker standards and create value for prospective and existing customers. Customer Insights: Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and challenges.

Requirements

About You:

Sales Excellence: Proven track record of successfully gaining new major business and exceeding sales targets. Logistics Expertise: Solid background in Contract Logistics or multimodal operations Tender Management: Familiarity with handling large and complex tenders Vertical Market Knowledge: Experience in key vertical markets (Aerospace, Automotive, Electronics and Industrial) is desirable. Relationship Building: Ability to build trust and maintain high-quality relationships Presentation Skills: Excellent presentation skills, bringing gravitas and credibility Negotiation Skills: Proficient in negotiating contracts. Self-Motivated: A self-starter with a hunter attitude and strong drive. Communication: Superb communicator and networker.
