Job summary
Responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and theprovision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to, greetingand directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, bookingappointments, processing of information and assisting patients asrequired. To act as the central point ofcontact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiriesfor the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members andexternal agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
Main duties of the job
a. Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system.
b. Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
c. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately.
d. Signpost patients to the correct service
e. The management of repeat prescriptions, ensuring they are processed accurately and efficiently.
f. Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies
g. Clinically code data on Systm1
h. Photocopy documentation as required.
i. Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required.
j. Input data into patients healthcare records as necessary
k. Direct requests for information, , SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team
l. Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner.
m. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times.
n. Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards.
o. Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested.
p. Action incoming emails and correspondence as necessary
q. Scan patient related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients records.
r. Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty Rota.

Our inspection in 2016 was ratedGOOD but, our main strengths lie in our commitment to the ideals of atraditional family practice with strong ties in our local population and goodworking relationship with our neighboring practices.
We have an Advanced Nurse Prescriber,and a Nurse Practitioner In addition wehave two highly motivated and experienced nurses who, along with our two healthcare assistants take care of much of our long term conditions monitoring. Thepractice is fortunate in having excellent administration and reception staff atboth sites
