Clifton House Medical Centre is a well-established Practice with around 8,100 patients. The Practice currently has 3 GPs, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, a Practice Nurses, a Treatment Room Nurse, a Health Care Assistant, and a Phlebotomist. Many of the employees have long service, highlighting the friendly and family-like culture the Practice has ingrained.

**Job summary**

Providing a full and comprehensive reception service to both internal and external parties including patients within the Practice by organising own work and specific tasks in order to ensure a smooth effective service.

**Job type**: 27 hours per week

**Working hours**: Monday - Friday between 8:00 and 18:30. Flexibility is essential to cover sickness and holidays.

**Working Schedule**:
Mon. 08:00-18:30 (9.5 hours)
Tue. 09:00-18:30 (8.5 h)
Wed. 09:00-13:00 (4h)
Thur. 08:00-13:00 (5h)

**Salary**: £11.45

**Key Responsibilities**
- Make patient appointments with the G.P.s and Practice Nurses
- Ensure all calls are answered/recorded as quickly and efficiently as possible and then passed promptly to the appropriate area for action
- Control and co-ordinate administration with regards to typing requirements, security and extraction/filing of surgery records
- Make appointments with the G.P.s and medical representatives as applicable and approved
- Deal with general enquiries, directing patients as appropriate
- Utilise appropriate documentation to register new patients
- Deal with and print out repeat prescriptions for patients as per guidelines and altering medication on the Clinical System as per G.P.s directions
- Entering new patients onto the Clinical System whilst maintaining existing patients records
- Ensuring G.P.s rooms are checked for adequate stock levels of stationery and equipment after the completion of each surgery
- Ensure that the rota system is followed and that all tasks are followed correctly depending on your role e.g. telephone, front-desk, admin

**Required Skills & Experience**:

- Previous reception/administration experience (min. 1 year)
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to type and format documents accurately
- Possessing a pleasant telephone manner, and maintain a diplomatic and courteous approach in all forms of communication with patients and external parties
- Excellent time management skills
- Good knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office
