AsRisk Manager you will be responsible for supporting the design andimplementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) as well aspromoting a great risk governance and control culture across thebusiness. You will be responsible for supporting the Head of Risk& Governance in the strategic delivery of the RMF includingconducting risk & control selfassessments updating riskregisters providing risk management advice and guidance andchallenging outputs to ensure robust risk reporting. You will buildstrong relationships with key stakeholders across the organisationensure risks are effectively managed and positive assurances aredelivered to demonstrate the effectiveness of controls and helpdrive continuous improvement within thebusiness.

Role andResponsibilities

  • Assistingwith the development of the risk management framework and thedesign and operation of components including the continuedapplicability of the framework to the evolving needs of thebusiness
  • Drafting of reports for relevantcommittees concerning risk governance andcontrol
  • Reviewing risk registers andconstructively challenge the assessment of potentialthreats/impacts to the business and the quality of actions/controlsin mitigation
  • Support the development of astrong risk management culture in the 1st lineof defence and ensure all relevant risk owners are fully aware ofupcoming deadlines
  • Maintain collaborativerelationships with relevant stakeholders across the business aswell as other 2nd line and3rd linedepartments
  • Managing processes for the reviewand updating of key risk documentation policies andprocedures
  • Assisting with the continueddevelopment of the internal risk management system and enhancingthe reporting and analyticalcapabilities
  • Managing the risk appetite and keyrisk indicator (KRI) framework including trend analysis andanalysis of change againstthresholds/tolerances
  • Assisting in thedevelopment and implementation of robust digital IT and changeprocesses and controls including IT security and disasterrecovery
  • Coordinating the delivery of riskmanagement training across the group
  • Overseethe management of risk events within the 1stline ensuring that adequate root cause analysis (RCA) is performedand suitable action is taken inmitigation
  • Adhoc support to the Head of Risk& Governance and Director of Risk & Compliance andproviding proactive risk management support for major groupinitiatives and projects whererequired
  • Supporting the development of othersin the team
  • Designing positive assurance andRCA reporting for committee meetings driving continuous improvementand eliminating waste
  • Embrace digital ways ofworking and ensure the Risk & Governance team is operatingin the most cost effective way
  • To lead byexample ensuring the Risk & Governance team are inclusiveand value diversity
  • Ensure compliance withbusiness and other relevant standards andregulations

EssentialSkills andExperience

  • Holds arelevant risk management qualification e.g.IRM
  • Prior experience in either a riskmanagement audit or control role within financialservices
  • Understanding of FCA regulation andhow it impacts the Group
  • Excellentcommunication skills (verbal and written) and attention todetail
  • Able to plan organise and meetdeadlines/targets where appropriate
