Purpose of the Role
To support the day-to-day operations of the risk division by monitoring the bank's risk profile, identifying, and managing risks, and providing insights and expertise to support senior colleagues in making informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Execution of small research projects to support risk identification and strategic decision-making. Prepare presentations and reports to communicate findings to senior management.
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
- Participation in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Identification and management of risks, including reviewing and challenging business propositions.
- Management of business and client relationships under steadily decreasing supervision.
- Support of risk management and decision-making by using financial models and strategies.
Analyst Expectations

- Escalate breaches of policies/procedures appropriately.

- Demonstrate understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
- Make evaluative judgements based on the analysis of factual information, paying attention to detail.
- Resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and will be guided by precedents.
- Guide and persuade team members and communicate complex/sensitive information.
- Act as contact point for stakeholders outside of the immediate function, while building a network of contacts outside team and external to the organisation.

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Risk team at Barclays Bank UK PLC and contribute to the bank's risk management efforts. As a Risk Management Intern, you will work closely with experienced risk professionals to identify and manage risks, and provide insights and expertise to support senior colleagues in making informed decisions.

To be considered for this programme, you must currently be pursuing an undergraduate degree with anticipated graduation year 2026.
