An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthy Child Programme (HCP) 0-19 Professional Lead to deliver and lead the education and training needs for all staff working within the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough HCP Service. This role is a one year secondment and will be considered a development role for the right candidate.

You will be aligned to the HCP staff in Peterborough, working as part of a team of Professional Leads covering HCP Education within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Foundation Trust work in partnership with Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust, delivering excellent care to children, young people and their families.

The successful applicant will be based in the Peterborough Locality and needs to be currently employed by CPFT or CCS 0-19 Healthy Child Programme.

Main duties of the job

You will have a Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) degree and a recognised teaching and assessing/mentorship qualification. You will be able to evidence continuous professional development and extensive community public health experience as a Band 6 or above. You will have experience of supporting pre-registration and SCPHN students during their training and education.

The post holder will provide evidence-based education and leadership to the locality HCP team. He/she will be able to demonstrate the ability to plan, deliver and evaluate teaching sessions and be confident and competent with formal teaching. You will ensure the delivery of a high quality, efficient and effective training programme for students and staff.

Job responsibilities

Please note for this role you will be required to travel independently around the county meeting strict time deadlines. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence* and have use of a vehicle. You cannot use public transport for this role as this is not a reliable form of transport and will not allow you to meet service needs. Our integrated 0-19 HCP skill mix team offer a dedicated child and family focused service delivery that makes Every Contact Count. You will receive a comprehensive induction package and a holistic approach to offering support and guidance via management, safeguarding and clinical supervision.

To co-ordinate, deliver and lead the education, training needs and continuous professional development for all staff working within the HCP. To ensure high quality educational standards, learning environments and training experience for all pre and post registration and SCPHN students working within the 0-19 HCP SN and HV teams. To be part of a 0-19 team, working within a locality jointly with partner agencies and stakeholders around the child/young person to provide care to children and young people and their families in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. To provide clear leadership to support the locality teams within the 0-19 Healthy Child Programme (HCP). To work closely with the Childrens redesign team, in providing clinical expertise to improve services and outcomes for children and families in Cambridgeshire. Responsible for the practice placement learning environment for a cohort of pre and post registration nurses working within the 0-19 teams. To offer guidance and sharing of expert knowledge to improve outcomes for children & young people within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. To support the Practice Assessors in their role, supporting with student training and education and in completion of the written practice assessment. To work with staff, other professionals and relevant partners to ensure delivery and plans of care for the children, young people and their families. To engage with all Institutes of Higher Education across Cambridgeshire Community Services and Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Foundation Trust to ensure robust standards of Education and training within the Practice Placements To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for own work including management of clients on the caseloads, time and resources in line with the NMC code of conduct and Trust Policies. To plan, deliver and evaluate packages of training and learning opportunities for all staff working within the 0-19 teams, in collaboration with partner agencies, inclusive of any local and national policies and procedures To provide an up to date research evidence-based knowledge to support both pre- and post-registration students in their placements. To establish, maintain and develop effective working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders. To foster a culture of Research and Development within the Locality and wider CCS/CPFT community To maintain own safeguarding competencies and support staff to safeguard children in line with local policy and procedure. To maintain own clinical standards and to support a clinical caseload as required. To plan and enable induction of all new staff members in 0-19 service within the locality area. To plan and enable bespoke preceptorship arrangements for all newly qualified staff members in 0-19 service within the locality area.

You will be flexible and adaptable to changing needs in a service that is continually developing and improving. You willhave a clear communication style; have good organisation and problem solving skills. You will be able to demonstrate a keen interest in Public Health particularly around childrens health and wellbeing.

As this position will involve working together as a team of Professional Leads within the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough locality areas; you must have the ability and willingness to travel across the geographical area within our combined Trusts.
