Reportsto: Die Department Manager

Job Purpose

The Tooland Die Maker is responsible for assembling and trialing dies inthe press using feed equipment. They are to develop and adjust asnecessary in the press to ensure the best possibleoutcome.

Duties andResponsibilities

Assemble diesincluding lining up punches and cutting to steels.

Ensure compliance with all Company policies andprocedures.

In press development includingspotting panel matching and adjustments to achieve partspecifications.

Set up dies in press along withcoil and set up feeder for progressive dies.

Work with quality team and design group to determine the bestpossible fix to the out of spec area on the part.

Participate in design reviews with the design and floorgroups.

Engage in Continuous Improvement withindepartment to better the flow of work through the shop.

Travel to customer facilities as requested to supporthome line runoff.

Help train and guide newToolmaker apprentices.

Unload/load trucks asrequired.

Paint/Stencil/Sticker/Wire dies asrequested.

Weld any steels that requirewelding.

Maintain information in the pressbinders from each die trial to ensure good communication with therest of the team.

Work with afternoon shift fora handoff in the press or on the floor to ensure smoothtransition.

Use the viewer to view die designsas needed for press and floor work.

All otherduties as requested by leader or manager.

Qualifications

Licensed Tool and Die Maker or equivalent experience.

Minimum 3 years press experience.

Forklift and overhead crane experience.

Able tocommunicate professionally with both external and internalgroups.

Understanding of GD&Tcallouts/symbols.

Machining/grinding experienceconsidered an asset.

Able to work overtime asrequired.

WorkingConditions

Exposure to dust and noisein a manufacturing environment.

Travel tocustomer sites required.

Overtime up to 48hours per week may be required including some work onweekends.

Physical Requirements

Extended time spent standing walking kneeling bending andcrouching.

Operation of a forklift andoverhead crane.

Ability to lift up to50lbs.
