Head of Building Control. Our client is an award-winning firm of chartered building surveyors serving key property management clients from offices nationwide. The business is structured around smaller, director-led consultancy focused on quality service rather than high-volume. The team is comprised of expert surveyors who are also directors and shareholders in the company.



We now have an opening for a Head of Building Control / Approved Inspection. The opportunity is to develop the Building Control service line. Responsibilities will include processing and scrutiny of Building Regulation applications and Inspection of building works along with the provision of general building control advice.



The successful candidate will have:



  • A detailed working knowledge of current Building Control practice procedures and legislation.
  • A detailed working knowledge of more complex construction techniques.
  • Ability to prepare accurate and detailed reports on-site inspections.
  • Ability to negotiate with applicants and developers in order to achieve compliance with statutory requirements.
  • To have achieved the required licence/qualification to operate in the Building Control industry.

Ultimately, you will be client-facing with the ability to network and grow the service line. This is a fantastic opportunity to move into a meritocratic culture and to develop the role with no limitations.
