An exciting opportunity has arisen for three substantive Consultants in Emergency Medicine to join our friendly, enthusiastic Emergency Department team at University Hospitals Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB), based at the Royal Derby Hospital site.
These are substantive posts and any candidate who wishes to work less than full time will be considered and supported, taking into account service needs.
The RDH Emergency Department currently operates over three areas - Red Adult ED, Green Adult ED and a Blue Urgent Treatment Centre to provide excellent care for the patients in our community.
We are recruiting for 3 substantive posts, 2 of which will be 50:50 split AED:CED.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for the care & treatment of patients in your charge & personal performance of clinical duties as agreed in your job plan, allowing for all proper delegation to, & training of your staff. Responsible for maintaining awareness of professional guidelines & acting in accordance with them. Responsible for the professional supervision, training & management of junior medical staff, carrying out teaching, examination & accreditation duties as required & contributing to postgraduate & continuing medical education activity locally, regionally & nationally as appropriate. Provision of an out of hours' service with your Consultant colleagues including on-call rota commitments, as indicated in the enclosed job plan.More details regarding these points are included in the JD provided.

FRCEM or equivalent Evidence of entry on GMC Specialist Register; OR Have CCT or be within 6 months of attaining CCT at time of interview AND entry on GMC Specialist Register by date of commencement; OR Evidence that the GMC is processing the Specialist Registration application (MUST be provided prior to interview) Full GMC Registration with a license to practice ATLS/ETC & ALS certification APLS or PALS certification
