Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in Levenshulme

Teaching Personnel is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Maths Graduate to join an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Levenshulme. This full-time role starts in October and runs until the end of the academic year, with the potential to be made permanent depending on performance.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will provide valuable support to both students and teachers in the maths department. Your primary duties will include:

  • Offering one-to-one or small group support to students who may need additional help with their maths studies
  • Assisting classroom teachers in preparing engaging lessons and providing academic support to students of varying abilities
  • Supporting students during maths lessons, helping them to understand key concepts and develop problem-solving skills
  • Contributing to the delivery of intervention sessions for students who are underachieving or require extra support to meet their targets
  • Assisting in the creation and management of resources to support differentiated learning across a range of mathematical topics
  • Tracking student progress and providing feedback to teachers to inform lesson planning and interventions
  • Supporting the classroom environment by managing behaviour and encouraging a positive and productive learning atmosphere
  • Helping students to prepare for exams and assessments, providing guidance on revision techniques and exam strategies
  • Collaborating with teaching staff to ensure that all students are given the opportunity to achieve their full potential in maths
  • Providing general assistance across the school where needed, supporting both academic and pastoral aspects of students’ development

What We’re Looking For:

  • A recent graduate with a degree in mathematics or a related subject
  • A strong passion for education and a desire to support young people in their academic development
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain mathematical concepts in a clear and engaging manner
  • A proactive and supportive attitude, with the ability to work well in both one-on-one settings and as part of a team
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
  • A desire to pursue a career in education, teaching, or a related field is advantageous
